SIMULATION AND MODELING SOFTWARE

Manufacturing Simulation and Modeling Solutions
Simulation allows manufacturers to “look ahead” and perform “what-if” scenarios to solve a variety of manufacturing operations problems such as equipment layout, asset utilization, and workflow issues to name a few.

Using a virtual 3D model to simulate real-world manufacturing environments increases operational understanding and improves decision making. The virtual model reduces the risk of making changes that could adversely affect operations. Simulation is a key component of an Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) solution giving decision makers a vision of how their ideas will work in future operations.

Applied Materials is the leading developer of simulation and modeling software that is widely used in many of the world's most complex and demanding manufacturing environments.  Our solutions include AutoMod, AutoSched AP, and ToolSim. Each of these products has a specific orientation to a particular class of systems.

AutoMod – Designed for detailed analysis of operations. Although mainly used in manufacturing and material handling systems analysis, AutoMod's flexible architecture allows it to be used in a wide range of application areas, from airports to semiconductor fabs.

AutoSched AP – Developed for modeling manufacturing operations where data is available to describe the equipment set, part routing, and customer order profiles. Typically AutoSched AP uses a link to the ERP or MES system to get up-to-date, accurate information about manufacturing operations.

ToolSimProvides an analysis “test bench” for a wide range of complex semiconductor equipment such as cluster tools.   Using ToolSim, decision makers can test their ideas in a simulation environment, allowing them to better understand and optimize the performance of their tools.
