FACTORYWORKS 3.X INTRODUCTION

Course Objectives:

  • Describe all tasks required to successfully deploy FACTORYworks in a manufacturing line
  • Start and Stop all FACTORYworks components and discuss system architecture issues
  • Configure FACTORYworks objects used to manage:
    • Lot/Job flow and historical records
    • Equipment utilization
    • User access
    • Engineering data collection
  • Utilize runtime client to:
    • Dispatch lots along a predefined process plan and execute ad-hoc WIP transactions
    • Create, dispatch and delete batches
    • Execute system test of configured objects
    • Describe business rule development environment
    • Run standard reports

  • Advanced Equipment Monitoring: 
    • Exact copy via templates
    • Hierarchical equipment 
    • Event-driven state model
  • Equipment as step & area resources 
  • Equipment management at runtime

Module 4:  Site Modeling – MDL

  • Purpose of a Site Model
  • Configuring MDL objects using the FMC:  areas, shift schedules and storage locations
  • Making the Site Model available at runtime – issuing RollOut command
  • Creating Reason Codes and assigning them to categories for use at runtime
  • Defining Reason Code Groups

Module 5:  Process Planning - PRP

  • Process Plans at Runtime
  • Configuring PRP objects using the FMC:  attributes, rules, steps, plans & products
  • Advanced Process Planning – Multiple PASS paths & Process Operations
  • The Process Spec Editor

Module 6:  Application Class Extensions - ACE

  • Overview and benefits of ACE
    • Extending FACTORYworks base objects
    • Creating stand-alone tables
  • Defining and using Rule Procedures

Module 7:  Work In Process Tracking - WIP

  • WIP's role in lot management, transaction processing and lot history
  • Configuring WIP objects using the FMC:  attributes, lot templates & component templates

Module 8:  Users & Security Modeling - OPR

  • User security in FACTORYworks
  • Configuring OPR objects using the FMC:  access strings, user groups & user profiles
  • Object ownership

Module 9:  Testing Configuration in Run-time

  • Testing configured objects
  • Behavior of WIP transactions
  • Lot and Component States
  • Setting Preferences in the Operator Client

Module 10:  Database and Reporting

  • Reporting Architecture
  • Populating the Reporting database
  • Scheduling, running & viewing standard reports

Module 11:  The CIM Environment

  • FACTORYworks Architecture Overview
  • DTPFadmin Utility – A Closer Look
  • Managing Data using Archive/Purge and FwLoader utilities
  • Overview of DTPFutil, ACEutil & CDEutil Utilities

Module 12:  Introduction to Business Rules

  • Business Rule overview - types of Rules
  • Work Flow functionality and the Operator Client
  • Rule creation and testing in the Rule Development Environment
  • Deploying Business rules in the production environment
  • Overview of API II transactions
  • Review of Rule Definition in PRP

Module 13:  Engineering Data Collection - EDC

  • Configuring EDC objects using the FMC:  Plans, Specifications & SPC Charts
  • Collecting engineering data at run-time
